Annual Leadership Forum Recognizes Heroes Among Us
The mission of supporting families, chil dren and individuals took center stage at the October 2024 Leadership Forum, as Self-Sufficiency leaders celebrated progress and strengthened their shared commitment to the community and workforce. The forum, themed Heroes Among Us, provided a focused space to recognize achievements, align priorities and reinforce a clear path for continuous improvement.
Assistant CEO Kimberly Britt and DPSS Director Charity Douglas shared their leadership journeys and the values that guide their service, offering insight into the resilience, compassion and innova tion that shape effective public leader ship. The Office of Health and Wellness contributed a presentation on staff re sources, underscoring the importance of supporting those who support our communities.
The highlight was honoring outstanding supervisors whose leadership and men torship strengthen teams and improve outcomes for the residents served by Self-Sufficiency. The forum reinforced that throughout the Self-Sufficiency Division, heroes are at work every day, and together we are building a stronger, more responsive customer-focused or ganization.
Leadership Award Recipients Advance Service for Staff and Communities
The Self-Sufficiency Division thrives because its leaders elevate teams, sup port staff through constant change and ensure customers and communities re ceive reliable, compassionate service. Outstanding leaders in the Self-Suffi ciency Division were honored with the Leadership Award at the annual Lead ership Conference. Their work results in more effective operations, more con fident teams and better outcomes for residents. Even with demanding workloads, they remain accessible to staff and cus tomers. Self-Sufficiency leaders build collaborative workplaces through men torship, coaching, training and creative
team building efforts that lift morale and reinforce a culture of service. Innovation is a hallmark of their leader ship. They contribute to workgroups, process improvements and cross-train ing efforts that strengthen offices and benefit the division. Their professional ism, adaptability and work ethics set a high standard and inspire others. Above all, Self-Sufficiency leaders em body a deep commitment to public ser vice. They exemplify the mission of part nering with communities to protect and empower vulnerable individuals, leading with compassion and modeling DPSS values every day.
