OSPM Expands Lean Six Sigma Training Across DPSS Programs
The Office of Strategy and Project Man agement expanded departmentwide Lean Six Sigma training throughout Fiscal Year 2024/25, supporting a strong cul ture of continuous quality improvement across DPSS. Staff White Belt Training introduced employees to foundational Lean tools through hands-on exercis es and workflow simulations that mir rored real processes. The training helped participants learn how to spot waste, streamline tasks and improve customer experience. OSPM also broadened access to Rapid Improvement Event Facilitation Training. The program prepares staff to support Kaizen events, which are short, focused improvement efforts where teams come together to quickly analyze a workflow,
identify root causes and develop prac tical solutions. The facilitation training strengthens communication skills and helps participants understand how to guide teams through structured problem solving and group decision-making. To build deeper internal expertise, OSPM offered DPSS Green Belt Training. Green Belt-trained staff can lead cross-func tional improvement projects, analyze data to uncover root causes and measure results to ensure changes are effective. As more divisions gain this capability, DPSS becomes more agile and proactive in addressing inefficiencies. These im provements reduce delays and unneces sary complexity, giving customers faster and smoother access to services.
