While elder abuse MDTs have been around since the 1980s, the development of our practices has often lagged decades behind domestic violence and child abuse. What can we learn from our sister fields and how do we advance the field by improving our practices? Through case examples, we will explore guiding principles such as equity, person-centered and trauma informed practices. We will discuss current gaps in the field and how The Elder Justice Initiative is helping to meet those challenges at the local level. National collaboration trends and opportunities will be highlighted throughout the presentation. Elder Abuse MDTs: Best Practices and Current Trends Breakout Session 2: 10:45 AM – 11:35 AM
