Mila Lilien Community Health Worker Independence at Home
Mila Lilien is currently the Community Health Worker for the Insights Mental Health Program at Independence at Home. She received her B.A. from the University of California, Irvine in English and Russian, and her Masters of Gerontology from Cal State Dominguez Hills. She previously worked as a Lead Resident Service Coordinator in low-income housing for 16 years, focused on helping seniors and disabled adults remain independent and safe in their own homes. She earned her Certified Case Management License (CCM) in 2016 and has been a speaker at several national conferences focused an aging and working with seniors.
Laura Lopez, MA FBI Victim Specialist Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)
Laura Lopez received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Religious Studies and her Master of Arts degree in Forensic Psychology. Lopez joined the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Victim Services Division in 2019 and is currently assigned to the Los Angeles Field Office as a Victim Specialist. Lopez covers the areas of responsibility for Long Beach, West Covina, and LAX. In her role as a Victim Specialist, Lopez assists victims of federal criminal investigations such as crimes against children, crimes against older adults, white collar crimes/ financial crimes, crimes on an aircraft, crimes on the high seas, domestic terrorism, mass shootings, kidnappings, international parental kidnappings, extortion, sextortion, cybercrimes, human trafficking, and bank robberies. Prior to working with the FBI, Lopez was employed by the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office as a Senior Victim Advocate where she assisted victims on crime on state cases. Lopez has a passion for helping people and advocating for victim rights. Lopez is bilingual in Spanish.
Barbara McEwen, RN, BSN, PHN Geriatric Care Team RN Riverside University Health Systems
Barbara McEwen received her bachelor’s in nursing and Public Health Certificate at Loma Linda University in 2005. She has over 11 years of experience working with the geriatric population with over 9 years working with APS. In this role, she serves as a consultant to Adult Services Social Workers as well as provides home visitation to the geriatric and dependent adult populations to assess and provide interventions for their cognitive, physical, and environmental safety. She also functions as part of several multi-disciplinary teams working to resolve problems with complex cases; striving to increase the quality of life of clients. She also served as a Nurse Care Manager providing education and case management to geriatric patients with chronic diseases to help prevent unnecessary hospitalization. She is passionate about improving the quality of life and improving health outcomes of our geriatric and dependent adult populations.
