Stacey Wood, PhD, ABPP Professor Scripps College

Dr. Stacey Wood, PhD ABPP, is the Molly Mason Jones Professor of Psychology at Scripps College in Claremont, CA, and is board-certified in Gero-psychology.

Dr. Wood earned a B.A. in Biopsychology from Middlebury College, followed by an M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Neuropsychology from the University of Houston. She completed further training as an intern at the University of Arizona and was a NIMH (National Institute of Mental Health)- funded Post-Doctoral Fellow at UCLA. As an expert in elder abuse, decisional capacity, and undue influence, Dr. Wood serves as a clinician and consultant for California Adult Protective Services in Riverside and San Bernardino County. She has qualified as an expert witness over 50 times in court cases, particularly those concerning conservatorships, financial elder abuse, and fraud. Dr. Wood frequently acts as a 730 expert for the courts in Southern California on matters related to capacity, undue influence, and financial exploitation of seniors. Dr. Wood has published over 70 papers in peer-reviewed journals focusing on decisional capacity and vulnerability to fraud. Her research has received funding from various organizations, including the NIH, NIJ, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Haynes Foundation, and Borchard Foundation, among others. Additionally, she consults with the National Institute of Justice as a content expert on fraud and financial exploitation of seniors.

Diane Zimmerman, CFE Forensic Accountant Riverside County District Attorney’s Office

Diane Zimmerman is a forensic accountant in the Special Prosecutions Section of the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office. Diane has been a specialized forensic accountant in criminal prosecution for the last 14 years. Prior to her criminal prosecution experience, she worked in private accounting for over 20 years. Her experience and expertise include locating

assets and financial accounts, account reconstruction and analysis, expertise in the use of specialized forensic accounting software, financial investigation, litigation support, and expert witness testimony in criminal trial proceedings. Diane Zimmerman currently holds the position of Vice President of Training with the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, Inland Empire Chapter.
